Glossy Covers: Lydia Cole for Enhance magazine

Glossy Covers: Lydia Cole for Enhance magazine

I first heard Lydia Cole sing at a Christian music festival called Easterfest a couple of years ago, so it was a nice surprise to see her on the cover of Enhance, the Christian women's quarterly which provides me with helpings of spiritual sustenance and inspiration.

Edited by Kasey Mac, who pastors the impressive Metro Church on the Gold Coast and imbues each issue with a warm, friendly and encouraging missive, Enhance combines a Frankie/Peppermint-esque aesthetic with content geared for the modern Christian lady of any age (grandmas love it as much as mums, 20-somethings and teens).

The latest issue contains a feature called 'Facing 50: rediscovering dreams', a profile of author Francine Rivers, Vikki Roubin's account of living with Bipolar disorder, a special section on friendship, and the latest installments in the magazine's Pregnancy & Baby 101 and 'The Understanding Your Man' series. Columnists include prominent Christian leaders Bobbi Houston, Joyce Meyer and Lisa Bevere, and recipes and fashion round out the book.

Printed on matte paper stock, the layout and design, by Bel Pangburn, features illustration, bird, horse and ship motifs and whimsical photography. What's more, the content is based on bringing scripture to life, so it's a resource that has longevity on the bookshelf.

Enhance is currently subscriber-only.
