Glossy Covers: Kate & Wills (Take Two!) for The Weekly
Following on from Vanity Fair's new issue, a striking black and white image of Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge (nee Kate Middleton), shot by Mario Testino, graces the June cover of The Australian Women's Weekly, on sale today... with William hidden around the back. The wrap-around cover is a first for the magazine, which also commissioned Australian artist Robert Hannaford with the task of bringing a portrait of Kate to life in a painting to be auctioned for the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the charity chosen by the couple to receive donations in lieu of wedding gifts.
"I think the [Mario Testino] photograph is incredibly beautiful and we wanted to show it in its entirety, so we extended the cover to include the outside back of the magazine," says The Weekly's editor-in-chief Helen McCabe. "I know many readers will want to keep this edition as a souvenir. And the portrait is also very special and a great opportunity to own an original artwork and portrait of our future queen."

I was actually a little disappointed to see this cover for a few reasons:
* The image was old and had done the rounds before the wedding
* They ran a wedding image on the last cover

I just sighed when I saw it because as much as I love Kate & Wills... I was ready to move on and looking for something new. It just seemed a little... done.
