Green thumbs, rejoice! Australia's premiere gardening magazine is celebrating its 20th birthday. According to News Magazines, more than 50 per cent of the magazine's circulation is made up of subscriptions, proof of its readers' loyalty and the strength of the partnership with ABC TV.
"ABC Gardening Australia magazine has weathered droughts, fires and floods," says the magazine's editor Jennifer Stackhouse. "There is a strong relationship between the TV show and the magazine, and our writers’ ability to reflect current trends has ensured the title’s ongoing success. This is not a magazine to flip through and discard: it is a magazine to read, reread and treasure."
The magazine underwent a redesign last year, including a shift in editorial focus to attract younger readers and the inclusion of travel and lifestyle sections. It attracts 395,000 readers each month.
