THE SATCHEL IS BAAAAAAAACK - outrageously ambitious or just common sense?

After a near 14-year hiatus raising three children and funnelling all remaining energy into a start-up fashion brand, The Satchel is baaaaaaack. 

I started “The Satchel” (aka Girl with a Satchel) at the tender age of 25 before falling madly in love and getting married and dropping out of the publishing industry and landing in career obscurity somewhere between the fashion-sphere and homemaking with three kids under foot. I am now 45. 

So for the sheer love of words, and lack of other gainful employment (have you tried to enter the job market as a midlife woman and non-digital-native in 2026?!), here "we" are with our first Substack, reclaiming a corner of the internet we long left behind. We will not go down quietly! We (aka “me”) are back. BOOM! 

What will you find here? Mostly writing on fashion, foreign affairs, media, and my take on news events and how they are reported. Let's start with the mid-terms, shall we?
