GWAS Notes: The Gobsmacked Blogger

Dear Satchelings,

Oops, I stumbled across a computer and am now infiltrating Mystery Maganista's time on the blog (apologies, MM!). But I just HAD to say a big THANKS to everyone who voted for GWAS in the 2009 Bloggie Awards (Best Australian & New Zealand Blog) - I cannot believe I won!

To the Oscars-style speech (heck, how often does a Girl With a Satchel win something?!)...

All praise to God for keeping the blog bubbling along from day to day, to the very loyal sponsors who help to fill my purse with enough pennies to buy the glossies (and whose fashion retail sites you should definitely frequent!), to my guest reviewers (Lucie, Rochelle, Margaret...), to clever Rebecca Wallwork of New York News Desk, to the frequent commentors (even the meanies who spice things up), to my fellow bloggers (particularly MamaMia, Wee Birdy, mUmBRELLA, Sassi Sam and Meet Me at Mikes), to the media folk who've written about GWAS (see 'GWAS In The Media' sidebar spot), to the teams behind the glossies who give me something to write home about (and only rarely get their underpants in a twist: you are very gracious, indeed) and, most importantly, to you, dear reader, for visiting this little slice of the web in your daily online travels!

Now, is 11am too early for a poolside cocktail? Over to you Mystery Maganista!

Yours truly,
Girl With a Satchel, Bali, Indonesia

Ahhh huges congratulation on the well deserved win. A few minutes perusing your blog is never time wasted - hope you carry on with this great work! I'm a sporadic visitor to your site but I'll be posting a link asap.
Incidently I noticed you have a picture of me posted left side under pretty pages holding a male models hand for cleo!
Much love

I'm so glad you found a computer, as I was worried you were in the ocean or lounging on a bale in Bali with no idea you had won! A huge congrats, Erica, and enjoy the holiday! Both the award and the vacation are thoroughly deserved. So happy for you.

Ah, well done Erica! So, Rebecca Wallwork works for ACP - the ACP New York bureau, not your NY bureau - so you're effectively admitting this site is sponsored by ACP! They let you use their resources! Finally!! Any (false) claim of impartiality you ever had is gone once and for all! I love your blog and think you're an acidic and insightful analyst, but your continued claims you were unbiased were really irritating. I think it's fair that the people who read your comments do so with the honesty they deserve. Just as you deserved your award.

Congrats. Well-deserved. Sometimes I read this blog instead of rushing out to buy a mag... which I suppose is not that good for the mag industry, but it's a huge thumbs up for you!

Anonymous: Rebecca Wallwork does not work for the ACP New York bureau. In fact, there is no ACP New York bureau since last month. Rebecca freelances for a number of ACP magazines, but so does Erica.
