  • New research has found that women who take the Pill have an altered sense of smell, taking "delight" in the scents of men who have a similar – rather than complementary – immune system. Apparently the oral contraceptive may disrupt a woman's pheromone detection system, which plays a part in the mating process. "If Pill-taking women are drawn to what are, genetically speaking, the 'wrong' men, the results could include increased difficulties conceiving, higher rates of miscarriage, longer intervals between pregnancies and genetically compromising offspring... not to mention, more divorces," writes Leslie Cannold in The Sun-Herald. As if the dating game wasn't complicated enough!
